By Catechetics, I mean "Religious Education" In Catholic terminology, we call the teaching of religion Catechesis. Different theoreticians use different name to identify their subject, depending, of course, of the stress they wish to give their understand of that term. We have, first of all: James M. Lee, who calls it "Religious Instruction" to stress its connection with the Social Sciences. We have also: Thomas H. Groome, who calls it "Christian Shared Praxis" because of the importance of "sharing" in the process of learning religion". Then there is: Berard Marthaler, who simply calls its "Catechetics", because of its connection with the traditional process of the Church. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
